MISSION BAY IS A BEAUTIFULLY LANDSCAPED AND MAINTAINED PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT.

The Community of just over 500 acres is located in South Palm Beach County, and is comprised of 10 villages, Evert Tennis Academy, Boca Preparatory School, two child care facilities, and a commercial area consisting of Dick’s Sporting Goods, Burlington Coat Factory, IHop, Babione and PetSmart. The Mission Bay Plaza is our northeastern neighbor whose tenants include Duffys, Hallmark and numerous restaurants. Sandpiper Shores, a public elementary school, abuts our northwestern border.

The Mission Bay development commenced in 1986. There are 1239 homes within the various villages of Mission Bay consisting of townhomes, and single-family homes. The Villages of Laguna, Las Flores, Reflections, Regatta, Sonata, Ventura and The Isle have their own sub-association documents and are managed by a sub-association Board of Directors. These aforementioned villages are two-tiered associations governed by both their sub-association or village, and Mission Bay.

WHAT IS MISSION BAY COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION?

Mission Bay Community Association, Inc. (MBCA) is the “master” or “umbrella” association that governs and maintains the business affairs, and property that contribute to the overall ambience and property values of Mission Bay. We maintain the roadways, lakes, fitness facility, tennis center, aquatic amenities, and oversee the landscaping and community patrol. In addition, MBCA manages the one-tier villages of Cordova, Harbour Springs, and La Costa.

MBCA is governed by a nine member Board of Governors, whereby seven (7) are elected annually by the voting members. The Board of Governors is given its power through the community association documents, which include the Declaration of Protective Covenants, the Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws. These documents give the Board the power to adopt, amend and repeal policies and procedures, as it deems necessary.

WHAT DOES MBCA DO FOR THEIR MEMBERS?

MBCA is a not for profit association with an annual budget of approximately two million dollars. Our income is collected through assessments charged to our residents. Every year a budget is established for the next year to cover the projected expenses involved in maintaining the commonly owned landscaped areas, fitness and tennis facilities, community patrols, administrative functions, salaries, and reserves for replacement of Association owned infrastructure, such as the roads.
